BATON ROUGE - LSU running back Leonard Fournette earned the Southeastern Conference's Player of the Week award for the third straight week, the conference announced Monday.

Fournette is leading the nation in rushing right now with 210.3 yards per game. He put up a career-high 244 rushing yards and two touchdowns this weekend in LSU's 34-24 win over Syracuse. He's also the first player in LSU history to rush for more than 200 yards in back-to-back games.

Fournette also has the most rushing yards for any player in LSU history through the first three games of a season. He's carried the ball 73 times for 631 yards and eight touchdowns on the season, averaging 8.6 yards per carry.

Last week Fournette was also named National Offensive Player of the Week by three different organizations.
