Four arrested in teen shooting death
DONALDSONVILLE - Sheriff's deputies arrested four men they said were involved in the shooting of a Donaldsonville teen killed last week, and said more arrests could be coming.
Investigators arrested Jakil Jones, 21; Max Batiste, 22; Trevel Dunn, 20, and Saquan Sullivan, 17, late Tuesday night. They charged Jones with second-degree murder in the death of 19-year-old Brisecon Jasmine, and the other three with principal to second-degree murder.
On July 14 deputies were sent to a reported fight at the Dville Village apartments, but didn't find one. They were called a short time later about shots being fired in the same location, and found Jasmine shot in the back of the head. He was taken to a hospital, where he died the next day.
Investigators said they believed Jasmine was a bystander and not the original target of the shooting. They arrested Jones, Batiste, Dunn and Sullivan late Tuesday night, and said more arrests are anticipated in the investigation.
All four are being held at the Ascension Parish jail with no set bond at this time.
Anyone with information about this shooting should contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office at 225-621-INFO (4636) or by texting 847411 to their anonymous tip line.
