WALKER - Police arrested four men they said stole a safe from the the Walker Baptist Church last month.

Walker Police arrested Matthew LeRoy, 19, Justin Kent Slinker, 18, Christopher Allen Parker, 19, all of Walker on June 6. They also arrested Tarence Fisher, 20, of Walker on June 7.

Investigators said three of the men also broke into a home on Pendarvis Lane earlier in May, and investigators found items which will help Livingston Police solve other burglaries as well.

Police said forensic evidence at the church and interviews with nearly 30 people led them to the group of men. Lieutenant Chris Dufour said they all admitted to being involved with a residential burglary, and led police in Walker and Livingston to locate several pieces of stolen property.

Dufour said investigators found the stolen church safe, but it had been broken into and the money inside was missing.

Police booked all four men into the Livingston Parish jail on burglary charges.
