Former teacher faces child pornography charge
NEW ORLEANS - Federal prosecutors say a grand jury has indicted a former New Orleans teacher with being in receipt of child pornography.
In a news release, U.S. Attorney Kenneth Allen Polite Jr.'s office said 43-year-old Don Francis Jr., of Metairie, was indicted on Thursday.
Authorities say Francis has been in custody since his Feb. 5 arrest when investigators found sexual images involving minors at his apartment.
Investigators served a search warrant and seized computers, CDs and other computer-related devices.
Francis faces a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum sentence of 20 years if convicted. A judge could also order him to pay a fine of up to $250,000.
