MINDEN - The former Springhill fire chief who used public funds for private purposes has pleaded guilty and was sentenced to six months in the parish jail.
47-year-old David Camp, who was arrested in April on charges of malfeasance and unauthorized use of an access device over $5,000, entered a guilty plea in Webster Parish District Court on Monday to the unauthorized use charge.
He was immediately sentenced to three years of parish time; however, all but six months was suspended. After his release, Camp will be on active supervised probation for three years. He also must put in 150 hours of community service and submit to counseling.
