Former Port Allen star finds new home at Texas Southern
BATON ROUGE - Former Port Allen High School star Darian Claiborne is on his way to Texas Southern.
Port Allen head coach Guy Blanchard confirmed the move to Sports 2 Saturday afternoon.
Claiborne has been told he will be able to play starting this season for the Tigers.
This comes after Claiborne was dismissed from the Texas A&M football team after being arrested twice in a seven-month span while in the Bryan/College Station area.
Both arrests were drug related.
Coach Blanchard said he "was thrilled" Claiborne has landed in a place where he can improve both on and off the field.
Claiborne led the Aggies in tackles as a freshman before missing time due to a violation of team rules.
