Former parish president accused of battering wife
WALKER - Police arrested former Livingston Parish President Mike Grimmer after they said he attacked his wife overnight at their home in Walker.
Capt. John Sharp with Walker Police said Grimmer's wife called them around midnight to report a disturbance, and when investigators arrived at the home they determined a battery had occurred. Sharp did not have specific details about what was involved.
Police arrested Grimmer on suspicion of a misdemeanor count of domestic abuse battery and booked him into the parish jail.
He posted a $500 bond around 5 a.m. and was released.
