LIVINGSTON - Sheriff's deputies arrested a former Livingston Parish councilman and four other people after a search of his home turned up more than a thousand prescription painkillers.

Chief Jason Ard with the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office said narcotics agents searched Robert Ringo's home in Satsuma on Sunday.  They found more than 1,700 Oxycodone pills and more than $6,000 in cash.

Ard said Ringo and a woman living with him, 28-year-old Victoria Berthelot, admitted to agents they sold the pills because it was the only way they could make money.

Ringo and Berthelot were charged with possessing drugs with the intent to distribute them. Ringo was released on a $100,000 bond but re-arrested today on additional charges, and given a $260,500 bond.

Also arrested in this case were the following people: Kristen M. Juliao, 21; Timothy J. Methvien, 27; Michael T. Perkins, 26.  They were charged with possessing drugs or possession with intent to distribute.
