Former Lee standout Leonard Smith will enter College football hall of fame
BATON ROUGE - Leonard Smith will have his big honor in early 2015, but for tonight, the soon-to-be college football hall-of-famer enjoyed a celebration in Baton Rouge as he was honored by friends and colleagues for his accomplishment.
Smith went to Lee High school before earning 1st team All-America honors at McNeese state in 1982.
Smith was the 17th overall draft pick in the 1983 draft, and went on to have a successful career with the St. Louis/Phoenix Cardinals and Buffalo Bills.
Smith will be formally enshrined in the College football hall of fame in January 2015.
