NAPOLEONVILLE - A former Assumption Parish sheriff's evidence officer has pleaded not guilty to 337 charges of malfeasance for evidence tampering plus about 100 more criminal counts derived from drugs or weapons charges.
Prosecutors accused Louis B. Lambert, who was in charge of the sheriff's evidence vault, of tampering with hundreds of drug evidence envelopes.
An Assumption Parish grand jury indicted Lambert Oct. 27.
