BATON ROUGE-  Former Baton Rouge Police Chief Dewayne White did not pull any punches about the city's crime cameras on his way out of office.

Mayor Kip Holden accused White of moving some of the cameras in the city. It is a claim White denies.

The cameras and shotspotter equipment are now part of his lawsuit against the city. The former chief said the city does not have the resources or technology to monitor activity properly. He also said the results are not worth the price tag associated with the system.

The mayor's office and police department had no comment on White's claims due to it now being part of the lawsuit. Police did say the cameras played an important role in more than a dozen major investigations during the past year. Supervisors over the system have previously said they routinely help identify suspects and vehicles involved in crime.
