Former Bossier Parish sheriff, 2 others indicted
SHREVEPORT - A federal grand jury has indicted former Bossier Parish Sheriff Larry Deen and two owners of Blakey Auto Plex LLC in connection with an alleged scheme to enrich themselves through their handling of a public vehicle.
U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley says the indictment lists Deen and co-defendants Clinton E. Blakey, of Shreveport and Clifton D. Blakey, of Benton, and accuses all three of one count each of conspiracy to commit federal program theft and federal program theft. Clinton Blakey and Clifton Blakey are additionally accused of failure to file IRS Tax Form 8300.
Finley says Deen, Clinton Blakey and Clifton Blakey will be given a date for an initial appearance before a U.S. District judge.
Marty Stroud, Deen's attorney, says he had not seen the indictment.
