A former Ascension College employee was arrested earlier today.

As News 2's Kristy Davis found out, 38-year-old Celeste Boudreaux, Labadieville, is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the school. Gonzales Police Department said Boudreaux worked as a student financial officer and between January 2009 and February 2010, she stole more than $7,600 in tuition money.

Police said Boudreaux told six students the school no longer accepted check payments and only accepted cash. She then gave the students receipts but never reported the money in the school’s system. Police believe there could be more victims involved.

Boudreaux was charged with one count of felony theft over $500 stemming from a several month-long investigation.
