Nearly 10 months after state police seized more than $16,000 in suspected drug money from a Lockport man, prosecutors await test results before moving forward with the case.
The Daily Comet reports the State Police Crime Lab in Baton Rouge must analyze more than 500 pills, including Valium, Vicodin and Viagra, to determine whether the substances Zachariah Dufrene
allegedly attempted to buy in June are illegal substances.
Dufrene has denied any wrongdoing.
Narcotics agents seized the suspected drug money from a safe inside Dufrene's home after two of his relatives reported receiving two large packages containing the drug Soma.
According to a police affidavit, Dufrene's relatives denied the drugs were theirs.
