DETROIT- Ford is about to reduce the gas mileage estimate for its C-MAX hybrid and new figures will be reflected on the window sticker. This comes after the EPA investigated claims advertised about city and highway mileage. Customers complained the C-MAX doesn't get the 47 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving. A person familiar with the issue says the mileage estimate will be cut to 43 mpg. Ford followed EPA methods to calculate the mileage but the person says it resulted in overstate mpg numbers. The person didn't want to be identified because the change hasn't been made public yet.
