BATON ROUGE - A six-person jury found Joseph Branch guilty Friday of vehicular homicide for driving drunk and killing a Baton Rouge cyclist in 2012.

Prosecutors said Branch was almost four times over the legal limit when he hit and killed Nathan Crowson and injured Danny Morris on Perkins Road. Branch was also found guilty of first degree negligent injuring for hitting Morris.

Earlier Friday Morris told jurors he's in constant pain and suffered neurological damage because of the wreck. Morris told jurors he biked daily through the area where the wreck happened, and never had trouble with vehicles before Branch hit them.

During their case, defense attorneys questioned the quality of the breathalyzer test which showed Branch had a .307 blood alcohol content level after the wreck. Witnesses said he'd been drinking heavily earlier that day, though other witnesses said he split some of the drinks with other people.

Sentencing in the case is scheduled for Dec. 17.
