BATON ROUGE - The Department of Transportation and Development is working to repave a bumpy patch of Florida Blvd.

The 2.6 mile stretch is from N. Foster Dr. to Airline Highway. Prep work has begun in the intersection of N. Foster Dr. and by the Airline Highway ramps.

DOTD will be working to complete the project between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday-Friday and during the weekends. Crews will begin paving the road next month.

"We've scheduled lane closures only during weekends and weekday evenings to minimize traffic impacts to the public," said DOTD Representative Lauren Lee.

The project is costing $8.5 million and will be complete by November 2013.
