Florida Blvd. closed during Thursday's rush hour
BATON ROUGE - Emergency crews responded to a natural gas leak which shut down Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge Thursday afternoon.
Crews reported the leak at 2250 Florida Boulevard, and traffic officials closed the highway in both directions between N. 22nd and N. 23rd.
Baton Rouge Fire spokesperson Curt Monte said a construction crew in the area hit a 4-inch gas line, causing the leak. Monte said there were no evacuations, and Entergy was on scene to help fix the problem.
Baton Rouge Police reopened the all lanes after the evening rush.
