DARROW - The water in many Ascension Parish neighborhoods like Pelican Point has subsided enough for trucks or other large vehicles to traverse the roads.  The same cannot be said for Darrow, a few miles south.

"I had a little patch of grass. Now you don't see any grass. If it wasn't for the sandbags, the water would actually be at my home," said Darrow resident Alicia Price, whose problems go beyond the water lapping against her front door.

"Every time we have two or three days of rain, it's pretty bad. We can't flush our toilets, we can't wash clothes, that kind of stuff," said Price.

Typically, flood water takes about two days to drain on her street, Galaxy Boulevard.

"We've cried many times, but nothing hasn't happened yet," said Price.  "I've been back here since probably '94 to '96, and it's an ongoing problem."
