Flood Warnings continue

Several flood warnings remain in place around Southern Louisiana.

The Amite River at Denham Springs which has a flood stage of 29.0' crested at 30.2' and is expected to drop below flood stage late Monday.

The Amite River at Bayou Manchac stood at 8.9' as of 9am Monday and is expected to crest above the 9.0' flood stage at 10.0' by Midnight Tuesday. According to the National Weather Service, at 10.0' Amite River Road and Horseshoe Drive will be impassable. A few homes on Horseshoe Drive will flood. Water will be approaching Kendalwood Road and access to property will be threatened. At 9.0' the river will begin to flood property along Bayou Manchac and the Amite River. Amite River Road and Horseshoe Drive will be flooded.

The Tangipahoa River at Robert, which has a flood stage of 15.0', had risen to 17.9' as of 9am Monday and is forecast to crest near 18.0' Monday Afternoon. According to the National Weather Service, at 18.0' evacuation of trailers at Hidden Oaks must be completed. Water covers the entrance to camp grounds. Secondary roads and unimproved roads north of Robert will flood as Chappepeela Creek backs up. Low places on Highway 22 south of Robert will be under water.
