Flood assistance office opens Tuesday in Livingston Parish

SATSUMA - Tuesday, FEMA opens a disaster recovery center.

The office will help victims of recent flooding get answers to questions about low-interest disaster loans and apply for federal disaster assistance. It is not necessary to visit a center to register for and receive federal disaster assistance. And, people are asked to register with FEMA before visiting a recovery center.

Representatives from the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and U.S. Small Business Administration will be at the center Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The office will be open on Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. until further notice, FEMA said in a news release.

The disaster recovery center is located at: Satsuma Village Mall, 28975 S. Satsuma Road, Suite D, Satsuma.
