Flinging Pot with a Catapult
Marijuana smugglers are using an old invention in a new way to get pot acorss the border from Mexico into Arizona. They're seen on surveillance video preparing a catapult and launching packages of marijuana over the border fence. A Mexican army officer says the three-foot tall catapult was found about 20 yards from the U.S. border on a flatbed towed by a sports utility vehicle. The catapult could launch about four pounds of pot at a time. Soldiers seized 35 pounds of marijuana, the vehicle and the catapult, but the smugglers got away.
