ZACHARY- Hundreds of people showed up at the Port Hudson National Cemetery to pay respects to the fallen soldiers that rest there.
Boy Scouts along with the Daughters of the American Revolution were among the groups who attended, placing flags near the headstones of each of the soldiers
"You've got a hundred and fifty years of men and women fighting for our freedoms. So without them doing that, we would not be able to do what we're doing here today," said Rex Kern, the cemetery's director.
Today's event will mark the 60th year the cemetery has hosted it.
