Fix coming to Range Ave. in Denham Springs

DENHAM SPRINGS - Contractors plan to begin work on a $2.2 million project Friday night to fix the bumpy ride on Range Avenue in Denham Springs.

Contractors will work nights for about 4 weeks to do asphalt work on Range Avenue south of Interstate 12 near Bass Pro Shops. Then the work will shift north of the interstate where contractors will do concrete work on Range toward Florida Boulevard. That work will begin September 21 and is scheduled to take nine months.

The Department of Transportation and Development says lane closure times will be from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday; from 8 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday; from 6 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday; and from 6 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday (weather permitting).
