UPDATE:  Two more arrests have been made in connection to the murder of Rick McBride.

The sheriff's office announced the arrest of 19-year-old Jace Chiquelin and a juvenile.

Chiquelin was charged with Accessory After the Fact to First Degree Murder and Principal to Aggravated Burglary. He has since been released on a $200,000 bond.

The juvenile was charged with Accessory After the Fact to First Degree Murder and Aggravated Burglary.

Original story:

SIERRA BLANCA, Texas – Blayson Fife, Trevor Lockett, Kameron Jones and Kerstin Avery were stopped by border patrol agents south of El Paso recently. Agents said the four had warrants from Livingston Parish related to murder and burglary and were in possession of two guns and ammunition.

A fifth person, Joe Anthony Baluch, was arrested and booked into jail in Livingston Parish in connection with the case.

The group was implicated in the death of Rick McBride, 61. McBride was found gunned down on the  13000 block of Pine Park Drive on July 22.

Deputies said Baluch and Fife planned to break into McBride's home to steal money and guns and shot McBride when he confronted them.

“Thanks to the teamwork of my hard-working detectives and citizens willing to cooperate with us, several arrests have been made,” in this case, Sheriff Jason Ard said.

The group of four were arrested in Texas last week and were transported back to Louisiana and booked into the Livingston Parish Jail this week, authorities revealed in an update Thursday morning.

“This high-profile arrest of a suspected murderer further emphasizes the absolute necessity of U.S. Border Patrol’s vigilance to serve and protect in outlying areas of the southwest border,” Acting Big Bend Chief Patrol Agent Victor Velazquez said in a statement about the arrest on July 27.

Baluch and Fife face murder and burglary charges. Avery, Jones and Lockett face accessory after the fact to first degree murder charges.

The suspects are no older than 20 years old. Two are 17.

Fife has been arrested before. Late last year, Fife, then 17, was tied to a multi-parish burglary circuit. Investigators said Fife was stealing items from cars and targeted mostly unlocked vehicles.
