BERTRANDVILLE - Deputies say five men were arrested Tuesday after narcotics agents stopped two vehicles suspected of being involved in a drug deal.

20-year-old Quan Lewis, 21-year-old Michael Lewis and 19-year-old Myron Lewis were arrested at the scene. Both Quan Lewis and Michael Lewis had outstanding warrants for their arrest.

Agents with the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office said when they were trying to stop one of the cars, the driver got out of the vehicle as it was still rolling and fled on foot, leaving two other passengers in the car.

Deputies found a loaded .40 caliber Glock next to a large bag of individually wrapped plastic baggies with marijuana, Sheriff Mike Waguespack of APSO said. 106 grams of marijuana were seized in total, as well as a .357 revolver.

K9 officers conducted a search of the second vehicle, finding a syringe and two spoons containing suspected heroin residue, agents said.

21-year-old Matthew Aucoin and 22-year-old Scott Leonard were also placed under arrest.

Quan Lewis was booked in the Assumption Parish Detention Center Tuesday for assault by drive-by shooting and flight from an officer. Michael Lewis was booked for domestic abuse battery, simple battery, simple criminal damage to property and obstruction of justice. Myron Lewis was booked for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Aucoin and Leonard were booked for possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia.
