Fish spill closes highway Friday night
BATON ROUGE - A fish spill closed parts of Airline Highway Friday evening.
The intersection of Airline and Beechwood Drive, east of Plank Road, was closed while police and the fire department worked the situation involving the fish truck. The fire department was called to clear the road of fish. Police said the load of fish covered the highway.
Video captured by a WBRZ photographer showed firefighters spraying water on the street and spreading sand. One firefighter collected whole fish with his hands.
Police said the truck lost its load but provided no other details.
