BATON ROUGE - First-time claims for jobless benefits remained mostly unchanged last week in Louisiana.
The Louisiana Workforce Commission says there were 4,041 initial filings for unemployment payments for the week ending Nov. 13. That's up just a tad from 3,974 the previous week.
The four-week moving average of first-time claims increased to 3,777 from 3,715.
For the comparable week ending Nov. 14, 2009, there were 4,623 first-time claims.
Last week, those still looking for work filed for an additional 48,436 weeks of benefits. That was up slightly from the previous week's tally of 47,975.
For the comparable week of 2009, there were 61,839 additional benefit weeks.
