Firefighters from 4 departments battle apartment fire on Plank Road
BATON ROUGE - Firefighters from four different departments battled a fire at an apartment complex on Plank Road.
The fire occurred in the 11000 block of Plank Road, which is in the Brownsfield Fire Department's jurisdiction, but crews from Baton Rouge Fire, Central Fire and Baker Fire were all assisting.
Sources confirmed that an adult and a child were transported to the hospital. One sustained a cut while evacuating the apartment. The other suffered from smoke inhalation. Brownsfield Fire Chief Carroll Campbell says the injuries did not appear to be serious.
Arson investigators were called to the scene, although Campbell also mentioned arson isn't believed to be a factor.
