Cause of early Monday fire undetermined
BATON ROUGE - Firefighters extinguished a fire in the 200 block of South 12th St. near Charles T. Smith Dr. early this morning.
It broke out just after 5:30 a.m. Monday morning. When crews arrived, the kitchen and attic for the home were in flames. The rest of the home received smoke and water damage.
Crews say the home was vacant, but the power was still turned on. A cause has not been determined, but fire investigators were called in to check out the scene.
