Fire investigation underway at home on Amarillo Street

 BATON ROUGE - The Baton Rouge Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire on Amarillo Street Tuesday night.

The fire broke out just before 9 p.m. Tuesday night. It took crews about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze. Fire investigators believe it originated on an unattended pot on the stove. Two people were home at the time. According to the fire department, one was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Around $40,000 worth of damage was caused to the home.
