WASHINGTON- The sun unleashed its first significant solar flare of the year and NASA captured the spectacular image at its Solar Dynamics Observatory on Wednesday.
The flare registered as intense.
The flares can't pass through the atmosphere to harm people but do have the potential of disrupting G-P-S and other forms of communication.
