Fire forces evacuation of office building on One Calais Avenue
BATON ROUGE – An office building was evacuated after a fire occurred just before noon on Monday.
The St. George Fire Department responded to an office building located in the 8000 block of One Calais to find a light haze in the building. According to the fire department, thermal imagers were used to find fire coming from the wall on the ground floor.
All eight offices of the building were evacuated and no one sustained injuries, according to the fire department. The fire was brought under control around 12:30 p.m. and fire damage was limited to one unit on the first floor.
A cause of the fire has not been determined at the time of this post.
