Fire chief accused of possessing child pornography
BRIDGE CITY, La. - The chief of a volunteer fire department here has been accused of possessing child pornography.
The Times-Picayune reports that Paul Jackson was arrested Thursday and booked with possession of child pornography. Jackson, 43, is the chief of the Nine Mile Point Fire Department in Bridge City.
Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office deputies say an undercover Internet probe discovered that child pornography had been downloaded and shared from a computer at Jackson's home. Jackson was booked with possession of child pornography and three counts of distribution of child pornography.
Lt. Keith Plaisance, a spokesman for the Nine Mile Point Fire Department, said Jackson was suspended Thursday. "To the best of our knowledge, none of this was happening on department time, on our property," he said.
