Fire bug bites again in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE - Investigators have determined arson is again the cause of the latest fire in Baton Rouge.
Crews were called to the 5600 block of Peerless St. just after 4:30 a.m. Thursday. Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from the front bedroom of the home and extinguished it quickly.
The house is considered a total loss. The family was not home at the time of the fire and is now being assisted by the Red Cross.
This is just the latest case of arson in the Baton Rouge area. Arson was determined the cause of nearly two dozen fires over the past few months.
