Fire at empty house investigated
BATON ROUGE - Firefighters said they're looking into what started a fire in an unoccupied house Monday morning in Baton Rouge.
Eldon Ledoux with the St. George Fire Department said they and Baton Rouge Fire were dispatched to the home in the 9500 block of Crandon around 7:50 a.m.
Ledoux said firefighters spotted smoke coming through the ceiling of a porch near the carport, and found the fire in the attic. It was contained there and only caused slight damage to the living area.
Investigators said the fire's cause is still unknown, and they are looking into it.
