Finders not Keepers
An appeals court in Arizona says a man's heirs are entitled to half a million dollars found in the walls of his former home years after he died. The cash was stashed in ammunition boxes, hidden in the walls. It was found by a couple who bought the house while they were remodeling the kitchen and bath. They knocked out some walls and laid claim to the cash. The Arizona court of Appeals ruled the money was mislaid, not abandoned, so it belongs to Robert Spann's estate. Spann died in 2001 and his daughters found stocks, bonds, cash and gold hidden in the house. They sold the house seven years later.
