Finalists for BRPD chief selected by committee
BATON ROUGE - The final five candidates for the position of Baton Rouge Police Chief were selected by Mayor-President Kip Holden's advisory committee today.
The committee chose the five after two days of talking to the ten candidates they'd voted to move on to the face-to-face interviews. The list of finalists will go to Holden's office for a final decision.
The five finalists are:
Willard Bates - La. Department of Environmental Quality investigator, former chief of staff for former Police Chief Jeff LeDuff
Jamie Fields - Former Detroit deputy police chief
Lonnie Lockett - Commander of the BRPD Major Assault Division
April Overman - Retired NOPD officer
Donald White - Commander of the LSP Emergency Services Unit, former BRPD officer
