PHILADELPHIA- The New Orleans Saints beat the Philadelphia Eagles Saturday night, not on the strength of Drew Brees' arm, but on the strength of Shayne Graham's toe.
Graham made four field goals, including a 32-yarder as time expired to lift the Saints to a 26-24 Wild Card win- the Saints first playoff win in two years.
It was an unlikely scenario, but somehow seemed to fit with the theme of the night.
First, the Saints struggled mightily on the road this year, going 3-5 heading into the game.
Also, the two high-powered offenses could only muster 13 total points in the first two quarters, as the Eagles led 7-6 at the half. But nothing could be as stunning as the Saints kicker who only earned the job when Garrett Hartley was waived less than three weeks ago lifting his team to a win.
Now the Saints move on to face Seattle next Saturday at 3:35 in a rematch of a regular season game the Seahawks won 34-7 just over a month ago.
