SATSUMA - The town of Satsuma is making a push to put a Navy fighter jet on display.
Reportedly, the jet will be placed along Interstate 12 near the North Oaks Hospital.
Military members and town leaders have initiated talks about the possible display in Livingston Parish. The Department of Defense will decide whether the retired aircraft will stay in storage or be put on display.
The jet being considered is an F-4 Phantom, a model used during the Vietnam War.
Captain Alton Ross, Jr., has served as a liaison between military officials and town representatives. He said the jet is currently being stored in Reserve, Louisiana.
