BATON ROUGE - Police said they arrested a man accused of attempted second degree murder after a fight between two Walmart employees escalated into a shooting.

Officers said they arrested Red Marquillis, 21, after he shot and wounded his co-worker Monday.

Authorities said a dispute began between co-workers inside the store on College Dr. and continued outside when the two employees went on break.

Police said tension mounted between Marquillis and his co-worker until a physical fight broke out in the parking lot of the nearby Albertson's. Witnesses reported seeing Marquillis pull out a gun and shoot the victim several times, according to BRPD.

Police said surveillance camera footage confirmed the eyewitness accounts of the incident.

Marquillis faces charges of attempted second degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
