Fifth-generation Kleinpeter learning the family biz
BATON ROUGE - Taylor Kleinpeter is learning the hard way how to climb to the top of her family's dairy business.
A few months ago the 24-year-old fifth-generation farmer swapped out her heels for a pair of mud boots and started getting her hands dirty. Her first jobs at the dairy include shovelling manure, milking cows and planting crops.
Kleinpeter Dairy is celebrating their 100th anniversary this year. Since its inception the company has grown to be a household name in Louisiana and branched out into ice cream. The company's revenue last year was around $41 million.
