FedEx raises prices
MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE- FedEx is raising U.S. rates for express,ground and home-delivery in January.
The rates will also change for FedEx SmartPost, which uses the U.S. Postal service for final delivery.
The express increase will apply to deliveries in, to or from U.S. FedEx Freight in North America.
The average increase is almost 5 percent for all the services.
The price of FedEx stock rose 62 cents on the announcement to $154.66, then went up another 84 cents in after- hours trading.
