A pair of Louisiana transit projects are getting more than $8 million in federal grant money.
An announcement Wednesday by Sen. Mary Landrieu says Jefferson Parish will receive more than $1.1 million for replacing transit vehicles.
Meanwhile, the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority will receive more than $7.4 million for renovating and upgrading buildings built in the late 1800s.
The two projects are among 152 funded by a U.S. Department of Transportation grant program.
