Local, state and federal law enforcement are spreading out from Baton Rouge in their search for an escaped kidnapper.
Demond Cook is still on the loose after overpowering Catahoula Parish sheriff’s deputies and escaping his restraints this morning. Authorities say he was being taken to district court to be sentenced to life in prison for a September conviction on kidnapping and aggravated robbery charges.
Baton Rouge Police and the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office are being assisted by the Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police, as well as the FBI and U. S. Marshals.
