Father indicted in child's death
BATON ROUGE - A 26-year-old Baton Rouge has been indicted on a first-degree murder charge in the June death of his 11-month-old daughter.
Larry Leflore is accused of with inflicting severe injuries on Aaliyah Heard.
The injuries included bleeding in the brain and cigarette burns on her body.
East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore III says he hasn't decided whether his office will seek the death penalty against Leflore.
Last month, the baby's mother, 28-year-old Ashley Heard, was indicted on charges of second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to a juvenile. She would face a mandatory sentence of life in prison if found guilty of second-degree murder.
It was not immediately clear whether Leflore has an attorney.
