BATON ROUGE – Deputies say a Baton Rouge dad has been arrested for threatening his daughter's middle school teacher Thursday.

Marvin Edwards, 39, was arrested for assault of a school teacher and disturbing the peace.

On Thursday, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office responded to Scotlandville Middle School in reference to an angry parent. Edwards is a parent of a Brookstown student, as the school has been housed at Scotlandville since the August flood. According to school officials, Edwards went into the school office and stated that he was looking for his daughter's teacher. Edwards said the teacher called his daughter a "b****" so he came to the school to "make him my b****."

Edwards further stated that he came to the school to "fight, get killed, or go to jail" and advised school officials to call law enforcement.

Following his arrest, Edwards said that he came to the school upset because of the way his daughter was treated at school Wednesday and planned on fighting the teacher. Edwards also admitted to threatening staff members in the school office.

Edwards was arrested on the above charges and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
