Father arrested after admitting shaking, dropping infant son
NEW ORLEANS - The son of a New Orleans attorney faces a second-degree murder charge after police said he admitted shaking, dropping and deserting his 2-month-old son who was found dead over the weekend.
20-year-old Justice Willard Brown faces charges in the death of his son, Justice Willard Brown Jr. The defendant is the son of Willard Brown, a defense and employment attorney who in 2011 unsuccessfully ran for a criminal district court seat.
New Orleans police say a relative found the child Sunday morning inside a New Orleans home. Arrest documents show Brown provided several versions of what happened, eventually admitting "shaking the 2-month-old infant and that the infant fell to the floor."
Brown appeared Tuesday before Magistrate Judge Harry Cantrell, who set bond at $125,000.
