Father and son killed in head-on crash
HOUMA - A 56 year-old Houma man and his 33 year-old son were killed when their car hit an 18 wheeler head on. The crash took place this morning just after 7:00 a.m. on La. Highway 316.
State police say the car was being driven by Theodule Marcel and crossed the centerline for unknown reasons. Marcel and his son Kristopher Marcel were pronounced dead at the scene. Neither of them were wearing seat belts. The driver of the eighteen wheeler, Carl Hallows was uninjured.
Investigators say alcohol use is unknown at this time for Marcel, and routine tests are pending. Hallows submitted to a breath test and was cleared of any alcohol involvement. This crash remains under investigation.
