Father and son die in murder-suicide
Authorities say a 46-year-old Lafayette man killed his 72-year-old father and then traveled to Webster Parish where he turned the gun on himself.
Deputies say Timmothy Rogers shot his father, Tommy Rogers, in the back of the head at the man's Lafayette home early Monday morning.
Authorities found Timothy Rogers dead from a self-inflicted gunshot about 150 yards off La. Highway 163 in the village of Doyline.
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office says Rogers was living with his father and was on house arrest with an ankle bracelet.
Deputies say Rogers cut off the bracelet before fleeing Lafayette Parish .
